What's New in 2019 Kia Forte?

The short answer is -- nearly everything. There might be a range of trims from which to choose, from base FE and midrange LXS and S to the luxurious EX -- in other words, a drive-time for every taste. But the longer answer is an experience. Get the scoop on how the sedan has been enhanced the latest model year here at Jones Kia in Fallston!

For one, 2019 Forte is sportier. The 2.0-liter I4 engine's now an Atkinson-cycle type, ready to deliver an energetic 147 horsepower backed by 132 pound-feet of torque. Bring a standard six-speed manual transmission, MacPherson strut front suspension, and optional Normal, Sport, and Comfort driving modes, into the mix, and you can expect handling to remain just as engagingly hands-on.

Secondly, the new Forte is even more fuel-economical. Its optional Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT), which features Sportmatic® technology makes that possible. According to EPA estimates, the car can get up to 31 mpg in cities like Baltimore, 41 mpg down highways to locales like Parkville, MD, and 35 mpg combined between spots like Lutherville and Bel Air, MD, depending on trim.

Third, it's even more fetchingly stylish and supremely comfortable, subtle yet notable in refinement. There are three new colors; there's available wraparound LED lighting; chrome accents for the car's molding and exhaust tip are an option, and an available rear trunk-lid spoiler tops off exciting first impressions. Inside, choose between woven cloth, premium tricot, and SOFINO leatherette-trimmed seats as well as a few luxury turns. The former comes available heated and ventilated up front, with power lumbar support, and with power-adjustability overall, flanked by perks like dual-zone auto temp control and ambient LED lighting.

Next, Forte is savvier with tech. 8-inch touchscreen infotainment, available in an upgraded UVO eServices format, incorporate everything from voice recognition and standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay to options like voice-command navigation, SiriusXM traffic updates, and more. That's not to mention that you can graduate from a standard four-speaker audio system to an available Harman/Kardon premium model in higher trims, pumping 320 watts through eight speakers. Above all, however, the sedan is a safe bet, with passive security features like stability and traction control systems joining forces with driver-assist options to help you stay in-lane, on track, clear of traffic and possible accidents, park more easily, and even improve your driving focus.
