About Cockeysville Maryland


Cockeysville is located in Baltimore County. It was named after the Cockey family who helped establish the town. Thomas Cockey settled in the area in 1725. Joshua Cockey built one of the first homes in the area and the first commercial structure which was a hotel in what is now the village of Cockeysville. Joshua's son remained a lifelong resident and built the train station that would become part of the Pennsylvania Railroad.
